About WebP to JPG

Many websites now serve images as WebP, so saving a picture often gives you a file your photo editor, document or older software will not open. Convert it to JPG here and you get a file that works nearly everywhere. Everything happens locally in your browser.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose your WebP images or drag them onto the page.
  2. Adjust the quality slider if you need a smaller file.
  3. Download the JPG copies.

Good to know

  • Transparent areas in a WebP image become white in the JPG.
  • Animated WebP files are converted as a single still image.
  • Want to keep transparency? Convert to PNG instead.

Frequently asked questions

Why do images save as WebP when I download them?

WebP is designed for smaller web images, so sites and browsers often use it automatically. It is perfectly fine for browsing but less widely supported by older apps.

Can I convert WebP to JPG on a phone?

Yes. The tool runs in modern mobile browsers including Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your file is processed in your browser and its contents are not sent to DockFlip. The first time you use a tool, your browser may download the conversion library it needs from a public CDN (cdnjs or jsDelivr), but that download does not include your file.

Is DockFlip free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no cap on how many files you convert. The only limits are file size (100 MB per file) and what your device can handle in memory. Ads may be added later to cover running costs.

Why might a conversion fail?

The file may be damaged, in a format your browser cannot read, password-protected, or too large for your device’s memory. Try one file at a time, or a smaller file, and make sure you have a connection the first time so the converter can load.
